The Kumbh Mela happens here

Ramkund, the holiest of holy places in all of Nashik, is a sacred bathing ghat on the banks of the Godavari. Every day the Ramkund attracts swarms of people, some of them wanting to wash their sins away in holy water, some to immerse the ashes of their dearly departed and some who just want to bask in its spiritual aura. This holy site which in the past sheltered Lord Ram during exile and at present hosts the Kumbh Mela, is without a doubt one of the most magnetic places in Nashik.

What to do

Make a point to take a holy dip in River Godavari at the Ramkund. Tourists can also visit the temples that are located on the banks of Ramkund.
