Gondeshwar Temple
An Ode to Indian Craftsmanship

The Gondeshwar temple is the image of beauty set in black stone. This intricately chiseled structure is located 30 kms South-East of Nashik in Sinnar. The temple was erected in the 12th Century in the Hemadpanti style of architecture that used locally available black basalt and lime. It is a Panchayatan Temple - a cluster of 5 temples with a main shrine surrounded by four smaller ones. The Gondeshwar, standing tall in all its glory, is an ode to Indian craftsmanship that has withstood the forces of both nature and time.
