The Buddha Caves

The Pandavleni Caves, also known as Buddha Leni were carved somewhere between 1st to 3rd Century BCE. These caves are located at a holy Buddhist site in Nashik. Ancient relics of the Buddhist Era, they are a group of 24 caves which bear some of the earliest specimens of Indian rock-cut architecture. One must climb around 200 steps to reach this incredible site and behold the breathtaking sculptures, ornate columns, unusual water structures among other antiquities. The Pandavleni Caves, being a prominent Buddhist sacred site, attracts a huge number of visitors.
